Salvador Dali & Rhinoceros, by Philippe Halsman
I find this amusing because I watched Midnight in Paris last night, and one of the many famous artistic people that Owen Wilson’s character meets is Salvador Dali! (Or, rather, Adrien Brody playing Salvador Dali.) And the whole conversation between them, Dali insists on mentioning his new-found interest in the rhinoceros. Very funny.
I saw that movie recently! It was awesome! And im obsessed with Adrien Brody.

Transformed by Beholding by Oswald Chambers
“We all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image … “~ 2 Corinthians 3:18TRUTH. But i just have to add that instead of trying to rid ourselves of worries like clothes or decisions, etc….that we are to behold God IN those things. If we are constantly in a “mirror” state, then we will be able to see Gods desire and will for every little thing in our lives. It kind of stresses me out when i hear that i need to get rid of every distraction and busyness. Because that’s practically impossible. It gives me more peace to know that God is calling me to surrender and listen for instructions for each of those little nitpicky things in my life. He wants everything. he wants to be glorified in everything. and he wants my love in everything. He wont stop untill I look just like Him. Praise God.

“For He [God] regards men not as they are merely, but as they shall be; not as they shall be merely, but as they are now growing, or capable of growing, towards that image after which He made them that they might grow to it. Therefore a thousand stages, each in itself all but valueless, are of inestimable worth as the necessary and connected gradations of an infinite progress. A condition which of declension would indicate a devil, may of growth indicate a saint.” by ….guess who…yea…. George Macdonald. Im just gonna call him GM for short.

I mean look at the guy….what a boss.

Fairyland-type Wonder
“But it is no use trying to account for things in Fairy Land; and one who travels there soon learns to forget the very idea of doing so, and takes everything as it comes; like a child, who, being in a chronic condition of wonder, is surprised at nothing.” from page 24 of Phatastes by George Macdonald
I see a huge connection in that quote with my journey with Jesus. When I enter into a place of crazy faith, of full reliance, and of basking in His glory, I am CONSTANTLY in a “chronic condition of wonder”. Nothing suprises me anymore.
and now that i just said that….i bet hes gonna do something even more spectacular than my imagination could come up with. And the chronic condition of wonder will continue to develop!
I love Jesus!
…and George Macdonald for writing such spirit-filled fantasy books!
